Being an AIESECer

I was walking in my faculty with a coursemate 2 weeks after i enroll Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).. being first year student, 2 weeks in university campus, we were still trying to determine whether those stories told by seniors are correct. and still looking for a good organization to join. then we saw somthing about 'going abroad' or 'working in global environment'.. the tagline was already enough to attract us to find out more.. So that was a short story how did i discovered about AIESEC, world largest student-run organization.. so proud it actually present in our beloved UKM.. whoa!!

this picture was taken in Universiti Malaya before we went in to the hall for legislation.. everyone look just great..
So I joined AIESEC with a friend, after 2 months, she doesn't want to stay anymore. But there are a lot of things in AIESEC that keep me stayed, especially the 'international' part of AIESEC.
Some people keep on questioning me, what is AIESEC? the name itself doesnt give much clue. yeah, in UKM we have Persatuan anak negeri which the name itself indicate which part of Malaysia they come from.. so it's actually take quite some time to explain about AIESEC to people but i normally explain basic idea of what is AIESEC , and then , google up! haha, simple answer but not much of the positive impression though.

In AIESEC we have conferences and conventions..where we get to meet international facis, international delegates or go abroad if the conference is conducted in other country. This was some pictures of my first national level conference that i attended, back in 2006, 3 years ago in Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang..

I was a first year student during that time .. (so much time to spend on such things ) and I was a junior (manja la.. junior lagi.., tak tau apa2.. naive..). I was standing , number 3 from the right. third row from front. National Leadership Development Seminar was for juniors to attend.. so basically its about developing ourself in terms of leadership. The conference ran concurrently with Mid National Convention (MNC). MNC, however is for our senior who were taking responsibility or holding leardership role in Local Chapter. Basically NLDS is fun, and MNC is serious.
Then i became executive of people development for a year. So in 2007 I attended Mid National Convention in University Malaya , Kuala Lumpur. I was the person incharge of logistics of Pre-NLDS... yeah, logistics level. not management.. my vice president incharge of education wise.

so this was my vice president, Tee Kean Huei. not sure if I spell his name correctly though.. This was our last dinner together as a department, me him and another 1 execuitve, Harp. He treated us in San Francisco Pizza Restaurant in Bangi. I thought he was just kidding to treat us... haha.. but he was serious and he did.

and thi is Harpreet, my so-called collegues.. hahah.. yeah, she look a bit like minah saleh here, esp with the hair but she is Malaysian.. Multiracial department!

I remembered thos who come late to our meeting have to treat others for mamak. thank god not KFC of McD.. (pokai la..).. i was late once, and i treated Harp with iced milo and hmm.. food in mamak but i cant recall what was it..

I think we done pretty good in our term, TKH as leader sure boleh!! haha.. not sure

about all the KPI, CSF and all that (lupa.. and i wasnt so concern about it though).. but as a team i can say it was great to be a part of it, even though its not the department i was wishing for at that time..
